The YWCA has been empowering women in Northern Illinois since 1891.

Our mission-driven services continue to evolve to meet the needs of women, children and families in Rockford, and the counties of Boone, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago.

The YWCA Literacy Council supports individuals and families with literacy instruction and English language support to strengthen our community.

One Table: An Open Air Dining Experience

YWCA Northwestern Illinois celebrated the end of summer on August 26, 2024 by closing down a city street, curating a menu and paired wines with Chef Paul Sletten and his team at Abreo, and enjoying a beautiful alfresco dinner with colleagues and friends along the river.
